Abbeyfields Insurance is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), registration number 556042. This can be verified by visiting the FCA's web site www.fca.gov.uk/register or by contacting the FCA on 0845 606 1234.

We act as an independent intermediary (Broker) on your behalf. We offer a full range of Insurance Products that provide consistent cover with various Insurers. Our services include assessing and arranging your Insurance cover with Insurers and assisting you with any subsequent event or alteration to the insurance which we have placed.

May we remind you that your insurance is based upon the information provided by you and you have a duty to disclose all material facts. A material fact is defined as any information that may influence an underwriter’s acceptance of a risk. If you are in any doubt whether a fact is material, it MUST be disclosed, because failure to do so may invalidate your cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid. Your duty to disclose is ongoing and does not apply solely at inception or renewal. If you fail to report claims, or circumstances that may lead to a claim, promptly it may affect your rights to an indemnity under your policy. All sales are advised sales where a recommendation is made by us unless you are advised otherwise.

We normally accept payment by cheque, credit card or cash. Alternatively you may be able to spread your payments through a credit scheme operated by a premium finance company. We may choose not to use insurer credit facilities, our decision will depend upon a number of factors including ease of administration for you, interest rates and the ability to provide credit facilities that encompass all your policies, services and fee payments. We act as agents for Insurers and all monies paid will be place in the appropriate trust account as agreed by those Insurers.

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and circumstances of the claim. Further information about compensation scheme arrangements is available from the FSCS website (www.fscs.org.uk).

All policy adjustments, alternations and cancellations, will incur an administration charge of £15.00. This is in addition to all other charges imposed by the Insurers. Any other charges will be discussed and agreed before being made.

All personal information is treated by us as confidential, held in a secure environment, and is processed in accordance with the relevant legislation. We will not use or disclose personal information without your consent, other than in the normal course of arranging and administering your insurances, except where we are compelled by law (including by regulators or law enforcement agencies) to disclose such information. In such instances personal information held by us may be disclosed on a confidential basis, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, to such third parties. We are registered under the Data Protection Act and a copy of our Data Protection Policy is available upon request. Records are kept as required under various statutory and regulatory requirements.

Unless required by Law, public interest, the FCA or with your consent all information you supply will be kept confidential to us and the parties involved in the normal course of arranging and administering your Insurance.

We aim to provide you with a first class service. However, there is a procedure for making complaints and this is contained in all of the policies that we issue. The first step is to write to the Managing Director at the address shown, or call on 0121 550 2380. If the complaint cannot be resolved, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Services Ombudsman.
